great lighting and rendering does interiors take a lot of time to paint? how long did this took?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

UnidColor In reply to digitalbiomimic [2011-11-20 02:08:08 +0000 UTC]

Thanks, yeh it does take some more time, its alot more painting and transform shapes into perspective, being abit more careful and thus it tends to be a slower creating the picture.
Also thinking about textures, reflections and lights tend to make things more complicated, but its fun.
Since it was a few month ago I did this I have forgotten how long exacly it took, but maybe a couple of days 5hours a day maybe .

Zoriy [2011-07-21 10:26:58 +0000 UTC]

It's really good, Patrik. Did you used a 3d model as a start? Because it's really hard to create believable lighting in interiors ,especially from imagination. Maybe you did some interior studies before? It's very interesting because for me it's difficult to paint good interiors

Woah, I really like the lighting, like the reflections on the floor and wardrobe. It's kind of eerie how the room looks decayed yet still clean. Did you use any photoreference when doing this btw?

Incredible. I really like the wardrobe and chandelier. Did you base this room on a building you've seen before?

As for the murderer, I'm sure he's upstairs, or behind the painting.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

UnidColor In reply to Ilackskill [2011-07-20 08:06:32 +0000 UTC]

Thanks alot!, the placement of the objects and such is just made up, so its just a random room, but I used reference to help me figure out how some stuff look or how reflective their materials are.

If you have a table and remove an atom, it's still a table. How many atoms do you have to remove until it's no longer a table?

The answer? Until it falls down.
