Description
Even if most giants embodies species of trees, there are quite a few giants that stand for mushrooms or wood-eating bugs.
I believe it is due to giant's life cycle.
When a giant's body is killed, it grow roots and stems, and slowly turn into the organism it used to epbody (this work for bug-standing giants too, but they turn into the nearest plant).
During this stage, the former giant absorb characteristics from organisms that make contact with it.
After a few years, a new body will grow back, and awake when it is human-sized. The giant will keep all of it's memory, but the species it stand for may have changed. The only way to prevent giants from rebirth is to destroy their body.
This giant once died on decaying wood, filled with hericium mycelium, so it now embodies it.
It need to feed on devaying wood, but it can also spread mycelium everywere in order to collect the nutrients it need.
It live in the same wood than yew, and is the caretaker of the moving mushrooms
