The cliff panther and his birds seem to be an interesting combo. What do the panthers get from this? The things that immediately come to mind are warning system, pest control or maybe carrion or more evilly eggs?

Food! The cliff panthers primarily eat the eggs (and then occasionally the dead adults). But just like domestic hens, the cliff hens regularly produce unfertilized eggs.

So, the cliff panthers are poultry farmers of a sort.

So are they sapient or just very intelligent animal wise?

No, they are not especially intelligent. The cliff panthers and their hens are just animals in a mutualistic relationship (like ants and aphids). The hens feed the panthers, and the panthers protect and care for them.

So, just one of those fascination of nature symbiotic relationships.
It's actually fascinating to see nature videos. Alligators letting birds clean there teeth. Honey badgers working with little honey gliders. Normally these animals would eat similar animals given a chance.

The dragons are VERY good, nice sense of reality and life. The unicorn is believable, they're all thoughtful.
