Not only did they add more jobs to the economy, but the man himself also took a few young and aspiring engineers under his wing for an apprenticeship. The companies popularity peaked some time after his last major installments to the CyberEye system. Soon after Mr.Tochikura retired at the age of 73. While he was keen was his work and the community, he never married nor had an offspring. While he would have loved to of given his creation to a son it went to his most promising Apprentice instead.

15 Years ago, Yokokawa, Haruto became CEO of the company. While he couldn't make as promising of a system as Tochikura, he tried different and intuitive ways to apply it to the home such as having sensor perimeters changeable at a remote. His ideas didn't take off and the competition was getting more and more fierce. There was a period of stock decline and company layoffs because of this. The ridicule and looks he was getting from his business friends bothered him enough to take action. So he sold some of the "stock" he had whether it was legal or not. Life was pumped into the enterprise and not too long after they hopped into a newer project. The Keikai-Droid(Version A) or KK-D(VA) for short. These were passive surveillance androids that took specific commands, stood guard, and instantly contacted the police department if an intruder is confirmed on the premises. While the idea of taking care of an android is a little intimidating, once integrated into the family unit it can become the most reliable and accurate source of protection. This was the start of a goal shift. Keikai-Droids made a killing in the market from the elites able to afford it. Yokokawa and his team were drafting the blueprints of the next installment using some criticism they've gotten in their reviews. The android wasn't aggressive enough and that was something Mr. Yokokawa agreed about. While Version B was being worked on, he received a commission from a %1er for a hostile and armed robot which was out of his field(aka illegal). But, the payout was high so he demanded another research team to get on it. After the exchange he got the idea to sell a couple more of these. Maybe put some out on the black market for extra funds. Production of the first KK-D(VB) prototype was quick after the high bank deposits. The second android was made for Yokokawa himself and he called it "KK-DV2".

KK-DV2 is a strong male android with a traditional but flashy look. Like the other models is a top-notch surveillance system with combat abilities. The only difference is that his right arm is exposed and stronger than it's counterparts. KK-DV2 took pride in this simple difference and it was the first emotion he felt. Testing has begun and he had to prove he was worthy of being kept together by defending an object, a home and a moving client from a controlled opposition. After succeeding his test he had the honor of guarding the CEO. Behind closed doors, Mr. Yokokawa was a lot colder and cynical than he appeared and the android learned that fast. The businessman was a sleaze that started tapping into the underlying crime of the city. This didn't change his opinion on the CEO though since he has one. He was only there to guard and protect from threats. Despite being treated what humans would consider poorly he kept in mind he's just an object.Despite all the work that went into making these models, the demographic the company initially appealed to started getting sick of the androids they were producing. They weren't affordable and people just wanted a new camera. Not only that but rumors about the illegal data sharing and hostile robot production was ruining the company reputation. Yokokawa avoided talking about it since the press was foaming at the mouth to expose this him and KK-DV2 couldn't do anything to protect him from that. Even though he tried to silence the word it all came public. Mr. Yokokawa disappeared the next day and hasn't been seen since but he did leave his android behind. It stung just a little bit.

The new CEO has the displeasure of trying to reverse the many years of damage. First thing first was to get rid of the androids. Although there was a worry among the few Keikai-Droids that they'd just get the scrap heap, they were just set out in the streets and told to think for themselves. Everyone was on the same page besides a couple of the androids who had time deciding with free will. One of those androids being KK-DV2. To think about it, that name sounded stupid so, he decided to name himself Rai. A new emotion overcame his body and it was confidence. He's a strong independent android who needed no CEO. He can definitely survive on the streets on Nyx alone. No life experience outside of fighting, errands, and standing outside a mansion. It took him 5 minutes to decide if he should tie his shoes or not even though Yokokawa didn't tell him to. He still didn't tie it. The only reasonable thing Rai could think of doing was finding a new "CEO" to work for. That's when he remembered the people that took down his creator, to begin with. The Press. He decided to join the press since they seemed strong and persistent. The android started his search but it wasn't long after a scrap of newspaper flew by him. He reflexively held grabbed it and read what was on it. There was a job opening for The Nyx Tribune, which was the same organization that exposed the former CyberEye Ceo.
