Description This is probably my favorite picture of Rittz to date. It's simple, but I think it works. I really just drew it to have an opportunity to color something with my new wacom tablet. So, yeah this is my first time using a tablet. It was fun. I definately think I have a lot to learn, but it really just made the whole experience so much easier. I can't wait till I'm comfortable enough to draw with it. Anyway, that's it. Drawn on typing paper with a mechanical pencil, inked with some junk pens then colored in Photoshop with my tablet. woot

Whoa, now I feel like less of an artistic loser for drawing on typing paper with a mechanical pencil!
This is a great representation of Rittz in just one drawing--and of the sport as well. That is some seriously awesome coloring and texture on his hair, and his feet are practically my favorite part of the whole thing. It's pretty crazy how dirty your feet can get just by running around outside for a minute. And of course, I love the details like the dirt on his bat, the two-source lighting, the shadow of his necklace on his chest, the indentations in his molars, the scrunched-up belly lines...it all just WORKS so well. This is fantastic as an action shot, too. The very idea of attempting this perspective would scare the crap outta me, but you not only pulled it off, you pulled it off, threw it on the ground, and ate a sandwich while standing on it. And got a really good composition out of it. The frog really looks like it's jumping away (i.e. toward the viewer) and I can vividly picture the moments leading up to this frame of motion. The entirety of it captures the energy, action, and emotion you can pretty much only find in sports.
And now that I look at it, rotate the frog ninety degrees and you basically get Rittz. That's cool.

ABRIDGED VERSION: I like it a lot. You're awesome.

Soto and I are huge boxer hockey fans. I'd love to start a division, I just don't quite understand the rules.

It's frog smashin' fun! I still adore your style. :>

Yar, tablets are awesome. I'm surprised you didn't get one before. Try going to a paintchat or do some oCing with some friends. That should help you practice with the tablet.
