The Four Central States and the Free City of Central Hub.
Central Hub (CH)-The Center of the World
The only city state on Sagwornoh, Central Hub lives up to its name. Sitting on the prime meridian and the equator, Central Hub is the main link between the four regions of the planet. It's also the main rail hub for the Great Equatorial Trunk Line which has a near monopoly on north-south, and east-west rail travel.
Mesa (ME)-The Big Rock State
Founded by survivors of the Kesa colony ship, the state gets its name from the many mesas throughout it. The many mesas in the state are rich in various metals, which makes up most of the state's economy. Due to its location, a lot of trade passes through the state, mainly going from the southeast to the Great North and vice versa.
Maro (MO)-The Canyon State
Maro is a state divided, geographically, politically, linguistically and ethnically. The Great Chasm runs through the center of the state splitting it in twain. As a result, the origins of its populous is varied. The western side of the Chasm was settled heavily by those from originally from neighboring Mesa, and tend to speak English. The west also tends to strongly vote for the National Action Party. The eastern side tends to speak Japanese and votes for the Great Mesa Party. The east was also were the state's first settlers came from where the Maro crashed and its remains began the basis for the city of Maro. Originally the western half was sparsely populated until the mid 100's when the state opened up a lot of the unused land for ranching and mining. Many in the west have called for either the state to be split in two or for the state capital to be moved either closer to the state's center or to the western side entirely. The eastern half of the state is highly against this. Since the construction of the Great Chasm Rail Crossing (a bridge built at the narrowest point of the Great Chasm between Cliffside and Kyosho counties) the issue has simmered down slightly, though it tends to pop back up from time to time.
Pyrana (PY)-The Firebrand State
Pyrana got its name from the highly volcanic Burning Mountains in the northern part of the state, and the large deposits of oil and natural gas beneath it. The originally settlers came from the Bidwell, the Sunset, and the Arkansas colony ships that crashed during the Decent, and would be the basis of the state's earliest settlements. The three groups were able to maintain radio contact between each other, which helped allow them to spread though out the area. The people of Pyrana have also gained a reputation for being highly outspoken and fiercely independent.
Valdosta (VL)-The Badlands State
The last state to be formed in the Central Region. Valdosta was named after the Valdosta Badlands, an area of rough, rocky, and geologically unstable land in the center of the state. The majority of the state's population lives in the northern and eastern areas.
