Description
Famous Bard, son of Apollo.Orpheus was a prince of a rather small kingdom, but his real father was Apollo. He learned how to sing and play the Lyre from Apollo, and became gifted with it. He went off adventuring with Jason and the Argonauts, and saved their lives with his song. Eventually, he returned home to marry Eurydice.
Sadly, Eurydice caught a sudden case of Death and Orpheus decided that he loved her too much to let her go, and so went into the Underworld. He charmed even Persephone and Hades into letting Eurydice go back with him. And they did....On one condition: That Orpheus not look back the entire way to the surface. Sadly, Orpheus looked back.
After Eurydice, Orpheus became a train wreck of a person...and eventually was killed by a group of Maenads. Sad story.
Orpheus is sad in general. He has it rough, the poor guy.
