Description Three children on a journey.
The wisest twelve years of age,
The little twice as young,
The third between the page.
All have the way they want to go,
None knowing what lies ahead.
They play outside with no care in the world,
Their innocence abundant and not yet shed.

Three children on a journey.
Each one heads a different way.
Their backs are facing towards each other,
As they stumble and they pray.
Their steps taken first with caution,
As they quickly learn to grieve.
A year is gained and knowledge grown,
But with in each footprint, a drop of innocense they leave.

Three children on a journey,
Yet the children are no more.
Three women are on a journey,
Not far from reaching the door.
They look back down the path they took
Not wanting to grow old.
Their eyes follow the footsteps left
And then they grasp and tightly hold.

These three women on a journey,
Their eyes meet as they rise from the ground.
Three children once again,
And a piece of innocence is found.
They want to stay a little while,
But they quickly turn away.
Their children’s backs now face each other
As they stumble and they pray.

ooooh, that kind of gave me chills when i read the third paragraph. it's kind of about getting older and growing up, but feeling nostalgic about being a kid, right? at least, that's what i got out of it. i really liked it! for some reason i love feeling nostalgic.
