Lovely, as usual... I can't wait to see the rest of the cards. And I also wish I could offer some constructive criticism like Stella, but ... *shrug* haha

You know I love your work, and I love your concepts with these cards! This is going to have more critique than normal, though because there are a few things in here that are a little confusing to me...
I loved the lineart when I saw it, and this light shading hasn't changed my feelings towards the coolness of the pose, concept, wardrobe, expression, figure... or anything in that respect, lol. But there are a few areas where the shading takes away from your awesome lineart ;-;
The most confusing thing is looking at his chest, I can't tell what's going on in the center skin(?)-shaded strip. At first glance, it looked like bare skin, which wouldn't be bad, except for the fact that the line quality is inconsistent as compared to the rest of the image, which made me think that there's supposed to be more going on than just bare skin. After thinking about it, I considered the fact that it might be like... a mesh or fishnet or something over that area, and might explain the choice to highlight the fabric on the torso, while leaving all other fabric flat to indicate a second layer over that fabric. But then it still doesn't visually explain very well why his pectoral muscles are defined by linework, while other forms of the figure and the stitching/string/mesh over the chest is lightly defined. It's just a little bit hard for the eye to decipher.
After looking at that area for that while, though, I realized something that I didn't immediately see in this drawing, but which immediately popped out at me when I first saw the original lineart- the slit over his heart. Somehow with all the cell-shading, and with how close it is to the busy background, and away from any kinda focal point in the image, I didn't even notice it... and honestly I don't know if I would have if I wasn't examining his chest for that long x-x;; I would really suggest doing something subtle but attention-getting to draw focus on that... like maybe use the same hue of pink as in the hearts, and lighten it ALOT just to fill that space in with the most subtle shade of pink, just to give it a little bit more attention? Or... something ;-;
Otherwise, it's just really awesome. I like how you allowed transparency in that design that's behind him, to let the background overlay on it and give the illusion that it's ethereal. ^_^ nice choice with that!

Or like kyenhikaru said, they might just be there to add erogenous zones to the body. Seems like a good enough reason to me o-o

"Why Do Men Have Nipples" Book by Billy Goldberg M.D. :

Here's a less expensive answer for you:

although I would recommend getting the book anyway. It's filled with random facts about the human body, and is pretty cool in general
