oh gosh, i'm sorry to be such a bother again- but whenever i do a straight line, it kind of goes all over the place? it's really odd..

yes, i've tried that, but it's more like i have no control of the brush- like, i do a straight line and then it curls upwards, or does a circle or something

you could controlZ to put it back where it was, or search your computer for the file.
It may have accidentally been dropped in another folder >0>

SoΒ I was able to find Watercolor B and Parchment. However, despite matching all the settings as shown in this image, it just doesn't look the same. I can see a slight charcoal effect going on with my brush, but it's not as good as it is in this image. I'm not sure if using a Watercolor B.bmp file that was meant to go into the papertex folder (instead of blotmap) matters? I also don't know if there is a correct Parchment.bmp file that needs to be used.

I just realized a copy of the bmp file is actually already inside my papertex folder. However, I don't think that matters because that would require me to change the texture of the layer itself. The only way to have it as a dropdown menu like it is pictured in your screenshot is if the bmp file is in the blotmap folder.
Anyway, were you zoomed in/had a particular resolution setting when you took that screenshot? I think I'm neglecting that aspect, because I'm noticing the brush size in the screenshot is small. My brush strokes don't come out as "grainy" as the screenshot, but that's because I'm not zoomed in and I'm working on a large-ish resolution. Therefore, I need a large brush size just to see the texture.

i normally work pretty small (around 1500 pixels)
and the larger the brush, the more of a texture you get >o>

I see. Yes, I do get more of the texture when the brush is larger, but I don't think the texture itself gets enlarged. Hence, when I tried to replicate the eye shown here, I did not get as much of the sketchy and grainy effect, particularly on the outer edges of the strokes. Working with a larger resolution and larger brush size, the outer edges are much more smooth, almost as if it were a regular brush.
Anyway, changing the resolution seemed to do the trick. Thanks for your help.

What you can do is create a new folder, lets call it Charcoal pencil for this case, find your Parchment file which is in brushtex and put a copy in the Charcoal pencil file. Then find the Watercolor Elemap and put a copy in the charcoal pencil folder. Then you can zip the Charcoal pencil file and uploadΒ them to your sta.sh. Then you can upload that to your gallery.

I don't want to seem needy or anything, but I've found other people have posted their brushes along with the files required to use them, is it possible to zip the ones required to use it and post them as a download here?
