I've seen the idea of Kurama being a girl for so many years in fanfics, and I thought to myself that it has potential, though it always bothered me how they take away the gravitas of his character by making it... idk, too affectionate and charming towards the boy, regardless of canon and the character's disdain towards humans in general?

And basically, that's how I came up with this design. I thought making her look more petite would be a way to conceal just how dangerous she is in reality, following a design philosophy you can see in stuff like Dragon Ball with its villains like Freeza or Majin Boo, also because, much like in canon, having her chakra halved by the sealing process, made her shorter as a result. For most of the story, she's still an active threat towards Naruto and co. keeping the same animalistic rage from canon. So, let's make this clear: she's NOT in love with Naruto at all, like in most fanfics.

Also, I don't mind the idea of the Kyuubi being a girl. Kitsune tend to take the form of attractive girls. And since Kurama was already a genderless mass of chakra, might as well take the form of a cute girl just because.

For the art style, I was inspired by artists like Asanagi and Yusuke Murata (particularly, Tatsumaki), besides using a few brushes that look reminiscent of Kishimoto's copic markers art. Clip Studio Paint is truly a blessing lmao.
