Description A compilation of some APH-ish pchats.

The story of America and England post-Revolution...

Poor little America, embroiled in civil wars and land grabs, works away humble and unnoticed by the powers of the world. Meanwhile England conquers and conquers again.... the unmatched global power for a good 100 years.

I really really wanted to draw our lil' Australia being all England, because he was absolutely in awe of and in love with his big brother. And there's Canada, and a troupe of (mostly faceless) countries that belonged to England during his pimping colonialism. The cute lil' uniforms are based on what my bro had to wear at school. YAY private Anglican education!

America: "I guess that old man's suffered enough..."
England: "BUT I WUV YOU~~ TT__TT"
- - -
America: "Hey England, I was thinking we could-"
America: "...."

And IVAN PLAYS THE BALALAIKA. :/

This is very much true. We didn't wise until the end of WW2.

That said, England wasn't much to kinder to those he sent over, convicts as they were. In fact, If it wasn't for America, Colonial Australia would have probably died off from lack of support while Britain was off killing people over tea leaves in India.

You make it sound so wrong....

I remember reading all this stuff at the time about how the British didn't care about the American revolution so much because the Caribbean made them 5x as much money... and THERE numerous revolutions were quelled really fast.

Totally unrelevant but, I'd really like an India heta-chan...

NekoNeko-chi In reply to Trillzey [2010-03-04 15:12:15 +0000 UTC]

I do, eh? xD

It's plausible. I mean, Britain had control of about 2/3 of the world, and America was just a small nation back then. 'w' He still had power over the world for the next hundred years of so. And revolutions... don't really bother them much.

huh... If India was there, what gender do you suppose s/he be?

Trillzey In reply to NekoNeko-chi [2010-03-06 08:51:44 +0000 UTC]

It's never on the news probably coz it's so chronic and old news...India & China share like 1000s of km of border, which are hugely overmilitarized, and each country reckons they own the same bits of land. So maps in either country look different along those bits
That AND they're both HUGE in terms of population and production capacity and their economies are both exploding and mattering more to the world than the US / developed countries' economies have been, so once they both reach their potential they'll be the new world leaders... aaaand probably go to war or something. Big rivals type thing.

Oh hell. That would be WWIII then. Or should it be WWIV?

In any case, if China and India go into a full-scale war, I'll be moving to Switzerland. At least they'll be neutral. Hmm, I didn't know that. @A@ Gah- I need to brush up on my geography. /has dropped geography two years ago since it's irrelevant to my course

Oho, I'd like to see a Chinese map.

Still, China and India going to war? D: Mark my words, they're both stubborn nations, the war might last a few hundred years if it ever happens.

Yeah... it's like China and Japan or China and Korea going to war... they always snap at each other but you just hope it never comes down to that :/ they say asian grudges last generations after all...

I don't know if it's a lot of land they're talking about, but I DO know the territory's disputed. They never sat down and talked about it... and too much rivalry / bitchiness between them to really sit down and discuss it. And India supports Tibet, etc etc...

Iunno if it'll be a WORLD war per se. But what we discovered in the past wars is that Australia's just too far to ACTUALLY invade. So I'll stay here although I'd love to go to Switzerland anyway~

NekoNeko-chi In reply to Trillzey [2010-03-16 06:31:56 +0000 UTC]

Uhu, remember World War I and II? I really don't want Japan in another war. (Thank you America) <_<; /is asian/ Well, the part about Asian grudges last generations... it's true. Mostly in family feuds. Like how Indonesia and Malaysia can't stop fighting even after like 60 years and even when Malaysians don't care anymore.

Haha, what am I doing, giving Asians a bad name? /hits self

The Tibet thing, ah yes. I saw the news. x'D America's being a busybody again and butting in. China's not happy about that.

I think it'll be a World War. I mean, if you think about it, China has a tendency to drag the world behind him. Half of the world's economy is there. <_< or something. I'm not sure.

Eh, if the flight to Switzerland is too expensive, I'll go to Aussie.

Trillzey In reply to NekoNeko-chi [2010-03-16 12:11:00 +0000 UTC]

Come on over to Aus!

Yeah, there's grudges everywhere. People just need to learn how to say sorry. There is no single conflict that's been healed over without an apology at some point. That's why there's still China & Korea / Japan issues, while Germany said sorry and moved on & gets along with everybody...

There's a thing with Malaysia & Indonesia, huh? Even though this is our side of the world, Australians are really clueless about the other countries in the neighbourhood.... :/ I hope it's not the dangerous sort though. x__x
OH BLAH WAR. '__';;

I will! I just need money! ...and a visa...and a passport... and I need to age a few years too...

x'D I guess most of the unresolved grudges does stem from neither one admitting their own faults. Haha, makes me think of siblings~ Yeah, Germany might be the only country that wanted to take over the world and is now on good terms with everybody. /cough/ Some of the older people here gets annoyed when you say 'Japan'.

Yes, but it's old news. =3= Back then both countries wanted independence from Iggy- and they were going to do it together. But a part of Indonesia didn't want to merge with Malaya (old name for Malaysia)... it was a pretty ugly feud. Mostly because Malaysia wanted independence peacefully, while Indonesia fought hard and long, losing many men in the process. :/ Indonesians are hot-blooded.

Lol, 'our side of the world'. xDDD That sounds funny somehow. Oceania~ Don't you watch the news sometimes? >3< I mean, political affairs and such~

...Now that I think about it, I know zip about Australia's history and culture. Well, except for the Kangaroos... and Gold Coast.

It's like Australia is in a different dimension.

Trillzey In reply to NekoNeko-chi [2010-03-17 08:05:14 +0000 UTC]

I always watch news. Aussie news doesn't talk much at all about the local region. Mostly about world / Europe / America etc etc. We don't learn about SE Asia in history at all... countries always look to the bigger ones, not the smaller ones I guess... political affairs is the same, unless there's some turmoil.
Don't get me wrong though, there are a lot of people that are very knowledgeable in the relationships b/n our countries... just the press / general population knows next to nothing

I'm sorry ~ yeah. I guess even though we're neighbours, we just don't know much about each other...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NekoNeko-chi In reply to Trillzey [2010-03-19 08:41:44 +0000 UTC]

:/ To be frank, we don't learn about Australia much too. Maybe it's because we focus more on South East Asia. Turmoil = publicity for the countries. Like just yesterday the news covered something about a political unrest in some country I didn't even know existed. orz

We tend to look farther than what's in front of us, I suppose. :'D As they say; 'Love thy neighbour.'
