This is lovely! You've got such perfect little lines and bone casings. I love the under dress as well.

Thanks! It should be noted that I got a 98% on this project for a 4th year class. I'm going to be working on the dress that goes with this corset soon.

thanks! it took absolutely forever but it was worth it. I wish I still had as easy access to a metal grinder as I did when I cut the bones, but I'm sure I can find another one.

Thanks for the feedback! This was my fourth-year first semester costume building class project. I built the pattern to my own measurements and plan to make a gown to fit it. I made it black so I could also wear it as a costume piece on its own.

i've had the fabric for years. i have dark blue brocade for the main parts and salmon pink/ orange color brocade for the smaller parts, like the stomacher and the inside sleeves. I'm just going to cheat and make the fabric coming out of the slashes permanent. And using snaps, I still think it was crazy that they would pin these dresses on women back in the day.
