Back in 1983, the video game industry was in terrible shape, largely on account of some unplayable games on part of Atari.

However, on this day, September 13, 2015, we have the 30th anniversary of a game made by Nintendo which practically had the video game industry make like a phoenix and rise up out of the ashes.

The game had a simple plot; using Mario or his newly introduced brother Luigi, you would traverse through the Mushroom Kingdom to save Princess Toadstool from Bowser and his army of Goombas and Koopas.

As gamers, we owe so much to this game. I'm sure everyone, at some point in their lives, played this game which later would be a pack-in game with the Nintendo Entertainment System; plus who could forget the iconic song?

If you're wondering why they are miscolored, that's just their attire from the original game before they would become proper.
