Description An unpleasant villain of dubious moral value and vengeful intent.

From a young age, Benjamin Blackwell acquired an interest in global politics and military affairs. It quickly spurred a subconscious penchant for self determination and early departure from his family's shipbuilding legacy. He enlisted in military academy, a common path for those seeking to serve their nation.

Rebellions in the outermost planetary colonies continued to head the news bulletins throughout his training, and at the end of academy, Blackwell is sent with a sizable royal force to finally put an end to the fighting. Several bloody urban skirmishes ensued, and the colonies remained in national control. The principle of the operation bothered him, however. After the campaign, and the end of his service cycle, Blackwell opted to withdraw from the nation's military, turning instead to look upon himself and the worlds from a different, somewhat philosophical standpoint.

“ Is one not entitled to their thoughts and pursuit of personal beliefs, above and regardless of what is majorly preferred? Some would say no, that the nation as a whole is entitled to ones personal concepts. That were it not for the nation, that person would not exist as they are at this moment, as if one has an obligation to repay their nation of birth for their very existence. “

- Benjamin Isaac Blackwell

His previous interest in politics became an obvious path, and combined with his discipline, philosophy, and newly realized beliefs, he used the political stage to support and campaign for those that envision a future similar to his. With Blackwell's previous military career and deviation from commonly held ideals, he knew the government would have marked him a potentially dangerous political enemy. However, his charisma and discipline in speeches, debates, and discussions quickly gained him favor within the political circuit. His success inspired those who share his non-traditional beliefs to speak out. This, however, further exacerbated his notedly tenuous relationship with the government, and it quickly classified him an immediately dangerous entity.

A bold move to quiet Blackwell is made, an attempt on his life by the government which ultimately failed

Blackwell however, retained his discipline and poise even after the clumsy plot to kill him. It stirred a new enthusiasm for actively antagonizing the state. He immediately and purposefully retreated to determine his course of action in the face of such an open affront. He remained in hiding for a time, to allow his would be killers to assume he had met his end. He covertly met only a small number of close allies and friends to discuss the future, both immediate and distant.

Blackwell concluded the preferrable course of action would be similar to that of the colonial rebels; a resolute, violent defiance of the government and popular society. He pieced together a network of safe houses, trusted allies, and revenue. Still underground, he rallied like minded individuals to his movement with his still eloquent rhetoric and straightforward courses of action. Before long, a retaliatory plan is set in motion; a bombing of a state owned building.

The plot succeeds, and Blackwell swiftly transitions to a state of secretive but unobstructed war with the government, quickly carrying out a number of additional strikes, and distinguishing himself a violent outlaw in the eyes of the greater public.
