this meme is hilarious 'cause canines have no sexual dimorphism unless you look between their legs, so any artists with a realistic style are just going to draw the exact thing twice...

There has been a few times actually where I have seen differences of appearance in sex of dogs in real life without looking down below. But that is because I work with dogs daily, and I'm used to it. Of course, there's often hardly any differences at all.
In this image, however, I did try to add a few things differently, but yes, subtly, to change the gender of the dog. For the female dog: I lightened the eye, made the fur longer on her ears, changed the fur lineart on her neck (Saul has dirty choppy fur, while Sadie has longer, finer hair), I changed the face- sleeker muzzle, Sadie has smaller eyebrows and addition of eyelashes. Not to mention the most obvious change in ear marking between the dogs.
So yeah, I didn't "just draw the same dog twice" I actually put quite a bit of thought into the design.

Oh, no, you certainly put thought into it! I meant if a person tried to do this drawing meme with realism it'd be basically just drawing the same thing twice. With your style you can definitely tell the difference!
