Description
A few months have passed since the Atlas Graviton disaster. Lex was a very patient man, but hated the fact that he had to rely on imbeciles to carry out his plan. Yet he had a lot of faith in Mercy whom seemed to be strong, intelligent, and efficient. They had tracked down the wreckage from the failed craft and located the probe. Lex was careful enough to swap out the internal sensor units and load it with dummy data from the Space Agency’s own reports. Back in Metropolis, Fred Danvers went over the information retrieved from the probe trying to make heads or tails of what went wrong without any luck. Soon one of his superiors comes down to his lab to check on him.

“Fred, any luck? He asks.

Danvers, exasperated, looks up from his terminal with exhaustion showing. “This is weird, it's like the only thing the probe found was what we reported. There not even an anomaly to blame the sensor glitch that occurred or why the Atlas fired its rockets. I feel like we are chasing a ghost.”

“Thing is Fred, it happened. No one is blaming you.” he replies.

“No one but the Daily Planet!” Danvers fires back as he glares at the headline. “They are calling it Danvers’ Folly!”

Fred seamed upset by this which the other man picks up on that something else was troubling him. “When was the last time you took Edna on a vacation Fred?

Fred seemed irritated by his question as he rubbed his forehead. “Seems it has been forever since I saw her. Ever since the Doctor said we couldn't have children...”

“Fred? That was over a year ago. Haven't you thought about adoption?”

“Well we were until a Rock the size of Kansas City was discovered.” he fires back.

“That does it! You’re been on this project for the past 14 months! I'm telling you to go home Fred, to your family! You’re on vacation for the next 18 months.”

Fred looks at him stunned. “But I go to find out....”

“No Fred, we have other engineers, we will figure it out. Besides, you know they want a look at that rock again, and chances are you will come up with that rocket as well.
