Someone else mentioned the 'chicken' vibe, and I definitely agree. These are very disturbing yet beautiful. The figures, while accurate, have the slightest stylization to them, making this even more unnerving, and you can never really ignore when the artist chooses not to draw heads and limbs, intended or otherwise. These are great.

I think the best technical element are the lines. Even without tone, the changing line thickness really shows depth and weight. Beautiful!

reminds me of when egon schiele used to climb up ladders to paint people on his studio floor from above

These are so interesting. o.o
I know that the head and hand were probably left out so that you could concentrate more on the rest of the anatomy, but it also creates a very interesting, almost creepy look.
The missing hand on that one arm makes the body look almost chicken-like (especially with the head gone too). I don't know why but I just really like that image, and the connection between the two. It probably wasn't intentionally but it just seems absolutely fascinating- like the figure is something discarded or undervalued. It is not seen as a life form but as meat.
Again, I know that likely has nothing to do with the picture, but anyway.
The lines themselves are so wonderful and thin, but still very detailed.
When you really look at the picture, there isn't really all that much shading, but the shading that you did put in makes the whole thing look very realistic.

thank you!
it was a conscious decision to cut off the head and most of the arm
i did notice that it looked sort of like a chicken..
i liked the sort of disembodied/non-human feel i got from the hard edges, either that those appendages never existed or that they are sunk into something

Well you definitely achieved that! Your art is always so interesting...always a new spin on something deceptively ordinary.
