Description "Petrified Petals" is the 2nd final photo art that came from my photo shoot with this old dried out bouquet of roses that was in our home for the past two years.

I really stuggled to complete this one as I had another shot that was almost identical but with the filters - the other shot had much more rich and vibrant colors in the petals and leaves (yellows, reds and greens). I ended up deciding on this one as its dull faded colors are closer to the original colors and just added more character to the shot. I could be wrong but this is what I chose.

This photo has had several minor raw image parameter adjustments made to give me the exact treatment I wanted in the photo art. Other than photo touch-up adjustments to the main captured image, no other manipulation or layering was done on this photo.

(I did have a previous version of this photo art which had an enahncement layer over it, BUT thanks to some valuable criticism from ~SocialOutlaw - a DA member who suggested that I should not have cropped off the bottom petal, I started from scratch and recropped to include the petals on the bottom. At that time I also decide to avoid using the enhancement layer. Thank SocialOutlaw for the great advice.)

Hope you like this one as much as I do! I cant wait to print this one onto stretched canvas on my real life art site for sale.

Cheers!

Cool , very well done ( would liked to seen all of that whiteish petal on the bottom in the framing & composition though ) . i think the raggedy edge adds to it's old decaying age .

Ahh yes good point. I could have cropped it a bit lower to include the bottom portion of the lower petal.

Then it would be balanced with the top end ( good thing ) , you can always "edit "
or delete and re-submit the new updated version too.

Well I took your advice because it was a valuable one. I redid the image from scratch to include the bottom petals. As the revised artist comments say, I also avoided using the texture enhancenment layer on this new version of the photo art. I wanted it to be more pure.

Thanks for the advice! I think it looks better now!

You're welcome , it does look wonderful ,and i noticed even more the diagonal line
between the 2 white flowers now -- a good thing -- diagonals , lines etc add a very strong dynamic to an image .
This will probably sell very well , especially to women .
Cheers
