Rite of Knowledge entry:
RoK: Unexpected Guest:iconumbrafen:
Snow crunched underfoot as the two tokotas carried their riders across the densely wooded landscape, the rising sun bathing the area in a pink-orange glow and the rustling in the treetops serving as the sole sign of the few bird species that were resilient enough to overwinter in Alaska. Flynn sat astride his yeti, Minimog, still trying to rub the sleep from his eyes as they walked. In spite of the fact that he'd been growing up on a ranch and had been required to get up before dawn almost every day of his life, he simply could not force himself to be someone he was not: a morning person.
Today was an important day, though, as it was the last rite that he would take part in with this particular group of tokotas. To his right were his gray curly mane Alexander. To his left, his friend Arabella was atop her slate roan Daiyu. Walking slightly ahead of them, as usual, was the old tundra tokota Nikolai. Flynn had grown quite fond of the old tokota over the past two rites and
PASSED with Excellent score.
Daiyu 8610 and (his/her) rider returned all three tagged tokotas within a decent span of time. Injuries were acquired by neither tokota or rider. A job well done.

Rite of fortitude entry:
RoF: A bit of Bonding TimeWith the first rite out of the way, now came the longest time consuming rite: Fortitude. It wasn’t as long as the ones her mother or Aunt Dex talked about when a tokota was ready to take the dominance rites, like when they each did the sibling dire’s Sorcha and Reyna.
This was the first time she and Flynn had done a series of rites alone, without the supervision or guidance of their parents. Both thrilling and slightly scary, this was just one step closer to independence and freedom in Arabella’s mind.
Two sunrises had passed since she and Flynn had started their task. They were still accompanied by the seasoned tundra Nokolai who was more familiar to the terrain, but was still reserved and let the kids call the shots.
“Nice day in paradise ‘ey Daiyu?” Arabella said with no inflection as she stood next to the slate roan. Her breath forming swirls of fog before disappearing from sight. The temperature had lowered a lot since the group had started, and
PASSED with excellent score.
The journey was long and difficult, but Daiyu 8610 completed it quickly and without fail. Injuries were acquired by neither tokota or rider. A job well done.

Rite of Merit entry:
RoM: Goose Hunt“I wonder if this old fart even knows where he’s going,” grumbled Flynn as he watched the veteran tokota jog along the river bank up ahead.
With his tundra coat, Nikolai stuck out against the rocky shore like a sore thumb. He was supposed to be helping Flynn and his companion, Arabella, locate a flock of geese they could sic their tokotas on. But after an hour of wandering around, Flynn’s faith in him was rapidly diminishing. At this rate, they’d soon find themselves at the mouth of the river where it would let out into the ocean. Well, there was at least one good thing about hunting geese. Since September was the beginning of waterfowl season, it was still pretty warm out: a full 40 degrees this far north. Warm for Alaska, at least. His mom had made him put on a jacket before he left, but he was so accustomed to the weather that he’d taken it off as soon as she was out of sight.
Flynn’s mount, a young slate roan named Djinn, trotted along
PASSED with excellent score.
The goose stood no chance against Daiyu 8610. Injuries were acquired by neither tokota or rider. A job well done.
