EDIT: So i'm a bit shocked actually about people disliking the abs. Just so everyone knows, I did look at reference pictures of women, not body builders but just athletic/well trained, so women can and do have abs. Maybe mine are overly exaggerated, but I felt the slightly more intense lighting I tried to use here called for it. Maybe I'm just being overly sensitive, but I had also asked my usual team of people I have look at my pictures to tell me if anything looked strange and got no complaints. Is it aesthetics? Or really my own inability at this time to see my errors? Probably a combination of both. But yeah, regardless I give thanks and appreciate the time taken to comment, it means a lot. But I think for this image at least I would like to request no critiques, as it is a gift for someone and I'm well aware of various other shortcomings it has. Thank you!

OMGTHISISFINALLYFINISHED

This is a gift I've owed the wonderful Lynja ( a Random Ninjas "band aid" ) for far too long now for all of her help and kindness and friendship. <3 She asked for Nariko and Kai of Heavenly Sword, and after my numerous epic technical difficulties over the past year with my computer and life, finally I've finished her gift!

I kinda am at the phase where I've been looking/working on this for pic for too long to like it, I keep seeing little things that didn't turn out quite how I wanted. >< But anyway, I'm gunna focus and comment on the things I do like!

Obviously, Nariko's insanely awesome hair, which I decided to make even longer and insane that it is supposed to be, because I'M INSANE. XD Haha no it was so fun and confusing and challenging.. I don't know how many of you have seen or really looked at the design for Nariko's hair, but it like.. twirls/twists upon itself... I don't know how to explain it.. but yeah it's insane. XD I also like how Kai came out. <3 I don't even care if her pose looks strange, because I tried so hard to find a reference of what I thought was a simple squatting pose, but no, nothing... so I just did it in the mirror and tried to draw it to best of my abilities. But yeah I love how her hat came out, and I totally wanted to capture her during her weird random "staring at her friends the dust particles(?)" ( I know Kai, I'm amazed by the dust particles too! ) moments. XDD I also like how the Heavenly Sword came out, or at least the bit you can see. XD; Oh and her lil hip armor thing too... I got the textures I wanted so that's a happy thing.

The "background" is not really anything, but kinda just supposed to look like clouds or smoke, as to me at least, there seemed to be a lot of yellow in the game so that's what i chose to use. I was gunna smear some black ink too, but liked how it looked without it so decided to do it in the end.

Nariko's outfit was a bit of a pain. D: It seems like the subtle colors of the fabric change depending on the lighting, so I just used pretty much all the colors. XDDD Also I couldn't quite tell what the equally subtle design is supposed to be.. so I went with swirly clouds... I just hope it looks ok, I was afraid it just turned out like a big mess. :I I'm not quite sre I like Nariko's face anymore.. it was great up until I colored it, which his weird... usually I fuck things up in inking and then attempt to fix it in coloring. XD; I do like the way the skin shading came out, like the harsher lighting i tried to do this time. <3

Anyhoo she likes it, I like it ( used to love it but as I said, been looking at it for too long XD ), hope all of you like it too. ^^ I want to do more HS fanart~~ <333 Even if the game is pathetically short, I love it~~~
