Das Boot! Yeah, one of my favourite war movies.
Your pic also reminds me of an old poem (or part of a poem) my grandpa used to quote often: "Rozoga, ócska csónak áll a megáradt Duna partján", meaning "A forlorn wreck of a boat sits on the bank of the overflowing Danube".

Yes, its my fathers favorite film, we have two versions both in geman but one with english subtitles.

I was lucky enough to get to go to the set in Munich where the mockup sub was and where the pool they used in part of the movie was!
