Description The lead motors pass a large ballast mound near the road crossing. Coming in at a length of 47.2 miles, the Brewster Subdivision connects Edison Junction west of Mulberry with Arcadia. Along the way the line serves Mosaic’s New Wales Plant near Edison, Mosaic’s Four Corners Mine at Agrock, Mosaic’s currently idle South Pasture Mine in Fort Green Springs, and the Seminole Gulf Railway’s Fort Myers Line at Arcadia. While it is of Seaboard Heritage, today’s Brewster Subdivision was originally built and belonged to the Charlotte Harbor and Northern Railway beginning in 1907. At its peak the CH&N connected Mulberry with Boca Grande 100 miles to the south on the Gulf Coast. It would become part of the CSX Family Tree in 1925 when it was leased out by the Seaboard Air Line and then outright purchased by them a year later. The Brewster Sub is currently the second busiest rail route in the Bone Valley behind the Valrico Subdivision. Video of this catch: youtu.be/dYwsjHn1Ayc
