Description
Virginia Hall Goillot DSC, Croix de Guerre, MBEVirginia Hall due to her career and work for the OSS/CIA has only become known over the last 20 plus years.
Originally employed as a clerk in the State Department, she was in Turkey when on a hunting trip accidentally shoots herself in the foot. Because she is far from treatment she develops gangrene which requires to have her leg below the knee amputated.
But this doesn't stop her from taking part in WWII for both the British and the Americans to the point that excluding the Medal of Honor is to this date the most decorated woman in service to her country in an intelligence capacity.
