So... Yeah. Like I said, I would be uploading this with out the background ( which I couldn't stand ) so I could have a proper ref for one of my characters for once. This is the first time I've done an actual ref, so forgive me if it's a bit clustered.
I figured I could include her bio here as well.
Riona is the daughter of my two oldest original characters on dA, Rio and Rena the Lucario. ( Who were Riolus when I first made them, if you couldn't guess. XD /shot ) She is a bit of a tomboy, and is more close to her father than she is her mother.
She is balanced when it comes to her physical and special attacks, being a mixed sweeper in meta-game terms. haven't fully decided on her moves yet, and probably won't until I officially decide to evolve her. She does have better control over her aura than most Riolus, but I doubt I'll have her learn aura sphere until she evolves, as I feel that's a bit cliche' and a poor character choice for a Riolu.
She has mismatched eyes, which she is personally not happy about. Why she got them... I'm not sure. I'm currently deciding between if they actually have a deeper meaning ot it's just because her dad has the same condition. ( Which I'm also deciding on if it has a deeper meaning or not. ) Either way, she doesn't like it because it makes her feel like a freak, and hides her blue eye with her bangs.
... And that's pretty much it for now. I don't want to spolie any other plot points that I have in mind if I ever decide to get around to drawing a comic. I will say that the band holding her ponytail has a special meaning to her, but that's about it.

Brown could have also worked for a hair color, because I think when two colors are the same but a different texture, it is a little distracting for me... Just thought I would point that out.

I actually tried several different hair colors when I was designing her. It just felt a bit out of place and didn't blend well to me when I had a hair color that was different from the main color. Maybe it's because Pokemon normally don't have hair, but to each his own I suppose.

No prob. The different colored eyes have me interested, mostly because my character has something kinda like that. But different.

I was actually debating whether or not to give her mismatched eyes when I came up with her. I liked the design, but I was afraid I would bee pushing it since she's a green Riolu with long hair. In the end, I figured sense not many people actually watch or pay attention to me, I'd just go for it. XD

Well, most people who see an OC that is overly designed, they tend to brush them off as Mary / Gary Sues / Stus. ( Basically, I character that has no flaws and generally tends to be extremely over powered. )
Granted, this is obviously not always the case. I always try to keep my characters balanced based of the series they're from. Sadly, due the sterotypes surrounding these characters, most people aren't even willing to give them a chance.
