'I can't believe I'm getting a partner.' Jimmy thought disdainfully as he walked down the dirt road. He had just joined an adventurers guild not a week or so ago, making a rather suprising decision of forming a rescue team composed entirely of himself. Needless to say, there were quite some protest from the higher ups and the guild master that making a team with out any other members was foolhardy, even though Jimmy assured them he can handle things by himself, and did managed to pull off a few small missions with out any outside help. However, this one would be a bit harder then those last few ones, and the guild master wasn't convinced a single Riolu a lone could pull it off. Thus, the huild master pretty much forced it on him to either take a partner with him on this or be ejected from the guild.

'After all, we all know that a fighting type would be at a disadvantage against a bunch of ice typ- wait...' Jimmy snarked in his head. He had always been a bit of a loner, someone who believed that he could handle everything by himself. This mission sounded simple enough, go to the Artic Ruins to save some Azurill that was apperently kidnapped. There was no need for a partner for something like that. Infact, he honestly felt like a partner would just slow him down...

Jimmy let out a sigh. The partner he was supposidly getting was suppose to be waiting for him at the job bulletin board. The only other thing he knew besides that was it's apperently going to be a fire type.

'Great...' He thought with a hint of sarcasm. 'I'm probably going to get paired up with some hot headed Charmander that thinks he's all that because he's part of the Charizard line, or some douchebag Chimchar, or-'

"Oh, hello there."

Jimmy was knocked out of his cynical train of thought by what would be one of the biggest shocks of his life. Standing there where he was suppose to get his partner for the mission was a female Vulpix, who rather uniquely only seem to have one fox like tail instead of the usual six on most. Jimmy was rather stunned, as sudden rush of emotions he had never felt before washed over him.

"You must be Jimmy. Nice to me you!" She greeted, her emerald green eyes kindly staring at the Riolu standing motionless in frount of her. "My name is Susan. Looks like we're going to be partners on this mission." She introduced and summerized, giving a warm smile.

'She... She's...' Jimmy studdered in his mind, thankful that the words weren't subconsciously making their way out of his mouth. His checks slowly becoming a soft shade of pink, he tried desprately to think of something to say. ANYTHING to say. Yet, nothing that didn't sound stupid came to him. Nothing like this had ever happened to him in his life before... All he could of was just what the heck was going on with him.

"U-uh... Y-yeah." Was the only thing that quickly managed to find it's way out of his mouth. If it wasn't for the fact that she was standing right in frount of him with gentle disposition, he would have started to bang his head against a tree. Luckly, she didn't find his nerviousness stupid at all, and instead let out a soft giggle.

"So, we should probably get going, huh? Considering we have a rather long trip a head of us." She stated, as she turned and started to head off on the path that would eventually lead them to the ruins.

"Huh? O-oh! Yeah, right!" Jimmy was snapped out of his trance when she started to walk off, as he quickly struggled to catch up. Exactly what was going on? He had seen other Vulpixs before and he didn't think they were anything special... Yet, there was something about THIS Vulpix that was causing him to act rather nervious around her... He was quite sure what it was, but part of him wanted to stick around her for a bit... Either way, one thought did come to mind.

'... Maybe having a partner wouldn't be such a bad thing after all...'

Ok, explaination time. At first, this started out as me wanting to draw my Pokemon OC Susan in a semi anthro form with out going full on furry like my last picture of her... Then I thought of this seen and thought it would make a funny fake screenshot... THEN it evolved into a stand a lone picture in it's own right... THEN I wanted to write a little drabble based on it... So yeah, a lot more work went into this than I originally planned to. XD;;

Pretty much used the same style I use for drawing Riolus on her, which came out pretty good on her although the legs don't really look fitting. Speaking of Riolu I finally draw one that looks like an actual one fore once, allbeit we don't see the full body. Also actually looked up the actual official colors for Vulpix and Riolu, instead of just winging it and saying ' close enough ' when all is said and done.

Also A SEMI DETAILED BACKROUND THAT ISN'T A GRASSY PLAIN WITH A BLUE SKY!? WHAT!? / shot

Seriously though, I'm suprised that I managed add a bit more detail to the background than I normally do, although it's still rather simple. The ammount of layers I had to use for this picture was insane though. To say it's a lot more than I normally use would be quite an understatement. Learned a few new things to help make the background blend in a bit more that required a bit more layers than normal.

Also, I managed to draw something on model in a confined space, which is normally one of my banes when it comes to drawing and a manger reason I don't do comics. However, with me actually taking my time and not speed painting everything, I found that it's actually rather simple once you get the hang of it. ( still can't draw on a DS / 3DS though... ) So... Possible comics in the furture? Maybe...

Anyways, pretty rambling at this point. Just want to quickly say that I kept the guild Jimmy joined vague as I might be joining a PMD group in the future. I might draw Susan a bit more in this form as it's easier then drawing her on four legs.
