Description
I wanted to update the reference drawing for my OC, 'cause the other ones each sucked in their own way.His name is Todd Axzeus, and he's supposed to be a legendary swordsman, lol.

i don't know why, but Todd looks better within the comic than here.. I mean, there's nothing particularly wrong about the picture (though his torso looks a bit long) but there's still something off about it.. But i suppose as a reference drawing it's alright

It's better than the semi-mutated drawing it's replacing - which might have been worse than the ancient drawing before it ... but all were better than the digital drawing before that that you said probably "looks funnier than I joke you could tell!"
The Todd plague is that I can apparently only draw Todd properly in some sort of context! Every time I try to simply draw him posing, he always comes out off. I always like to draw people doing things... even if it's just some subtlety in the way they're standing there that counts as the thing they're "doing",(Just having context for it and a reason to do it makes me do it right.) but being unable to draw a person posing is just not right! 
Next time I could try to envision a scenario first for Todd to be standing in... but I'd probably botch that too... I heard though that a good picture tells a story, even if there is no story, so that might also create the anatomy problems somehow. 
Maybe I need to just draw Todd posing in a comic and then crop that out and use it as the plauge-free example pic.

Even I draw my characters weirdly when they're just 'posing' (with the exception of Lily, who i just thought of) Usually, even if they're technically just posing, im thinking about their interaction with each other (like Cale and Rain, although that turned out weird also) but I can't think of any picture drawn of just one character, just standing around blankly..
I mean, think about it, it still turns out weird/awkward in real life.. Driver license's pictures, or those wallet ones for passports or whatever.. Oh, and yearbook photos

You're right! Pictures where you're just blankly DO turn out weird and awkward in real life! 
Driver's license pictures and other IDs turn out even worse though because you're required by law to also have the most boring expression on your face that you could conceivably make.
But yearbook pictures can be okay, right? No? My mom put one of my old childhood yearbook pictures in a frame, and my brother's too. They turned out quite well. Maybe she's got two or three of them framed, actually.

Wow. You notice everything! 
It might look shorted if he wasn't wearing his shield/gorget, because more of his neck would show, but then this wouldn't work very well as a reference! I'm glad that in this one though, the shield finally didn't cause me to draw his shoulders weird. I just looked back at a page of Todd VS Lukian again and saw how weird his shoulders looked on a page I was sure was good.
I'm going to make new references for both Todd and Eva for 2014 now. I'm gonna put more care into it this time, and I will not settle for a weird-looking Todd this year! Then you can
