have you ever played mount and blades? your art reminds me of it in many ways. it takes place in medieval times, there is 6 different factions all representing different empires and fighting styles of the European world for example nords would be the Norwegians and northern Europeans the make strong infantry and huscarls, the karghets are the Asians with horse archers and lancers. theres forest desert and steppe bandits, sea raders and looters. theres no set goal you could be a king, a lord, marshal, a mercenary,or a bandit but non of these goals are necessarily strait forward like before you become a lord u must be a mercenary and you must be a lord before you can become a marshal. it is the kind of game that you want to know before you get into it, so a few tutorials is a good idea. There's a demo for it on steam. it sounds like the kind of game you would like.
