I compare this Pokemon to Lavos from Chrono Trigger:
-Both Originate from space from a Meteor
-Both were used as an Energy Source at some point
-Both have a day associated with them with would bring the end of the world.
-The Battle Background

I wish the games had properly scaled PokemonΒ
Imagine this thing just hovering behind in all its 60 ft glory

It's bad when 2 games that are both a decade old have properly scaled Pokemon
But an entirely new game on a better console doesn't

they also had less in them
coliseum, had up to gen 3 and also had a dex cut i think (never played it)
and battle revolution had ALL up to gen 4, but lacked any other form of game play besides the battles (which is fun enough)
sure gen 8 had less help from outside parties, and some of the effort was also put into that other gamefreak game (forgot the name but people were hyped just because the music was done by the undertale guy)
but i feel like if they put ALL of their effort into Sword&Shield then i feel like we could have had a bit more to work with, still a fantastic Pokemon game though, when it does something right it does it RIGHT, only had 3 things i actually felt could have been better

They cut the dex in SwSh so numbers aren't an excuse
Hell they don't have an excuse at all, they are the highest grossing franchise of all time, but they keep these indie game charades up
Hopefully they patch up things before gen 9 as they can do that now

i know but i am just saying hoen had a dex cut (sort of) and no one was losing their minds over it, just hit me now
the because they gave was kind of shit, but when you stop and think about how there are almost 1000 of the little bastards, a dex cut was NEEDED, at least sooner or later
besides, i hardly ever reuse Pokemon, i like going for fully new experiences, i only make my old teams for a fun pass time and nothing else really
new DLC will be adding a bunch of old ones and a few new ones,so now only like 10% of the dex is cut
which i have ZERO issue with, look at Monster hunter, they do a dex cut almost each generation, sure they add a TONNE od shit that makes the game play interesting but the most we have had in an MH game is like 80 monsters, that is FAR less than 893 and counting

Most of us were like 12-15 when the original RSE games came out, we weren't that concerned with the older Pokemon back then, most pokefans now are in their 20-30s and know when they're being jipted
The days of gen 3 4 and 5 were Gamefreak at a more...simpler time, when they weren't that concerned with money and wanted to please fans with good stories and pretty decent designs
That shouldn't be a problem really, either make a region large enough to accumulate that many species
Or make things like Pokemon bank free to use and people can just bring Pokemon over
I'm not that upset with the dex cut, but their reasoning is very half assed and makes it seem like they just didn't want to be bothered with it
They knew this problem is gonna happen and they need to plan ahead, or just end the franchise

lets see, 2002, so i would have been 5 when it came out
...hot dam i remember being 5 way too clearly
i get ya, but i'm early 20's and i am actually ok with the dex cut, it wasn't the WORST thing ever, just the excuse was terrible
i feel like they are still trying that, it is just that people are getting more critical of them and are more annoyed when they pull bullshit
(like removing move tutors, super training and the pokelympics)
. gen 6 had some of the best designs I've seen in a Pokemon game and mega evolution was a decent way to spice up the games for the shift to 3D, the main thing holding it back was the characters were as interesting as moldy bread
(i can't even remember the gym leaders, elite 4 or what ever the hell Lysanders plan was)
.Β gen 7 they pushed the story and characters to higher levels with team skull and lucimine being a CRAZY bitch, but then ruined that with ultra sun/moon, not sure what else was in the ULTRA games because i didn't play them but it seemed too similar to base sun/moon
. and finally gen 8 which design wise has been pretty good, and the characters have been pushed into overdrive, only real weak points were dex cut, sizes not being too good and the story could have had some better direction
(eternatus just shows up and gets dealt with in an instant, would have been nice to see some more foreshadowing or something)
i do agree that gen 5 was the last SIMPLE game, no mega evos, no Z-Moves, no gigantamax, just triple and rotation battles were introduced (and hardly used)
i don't think the size of the region is the issue, not sure what the reason was but i doubt it was animations
i can agree, they could have planned a head abit more
