I push people away in hopes that the right ones will pull backand you did
you slowly but surely wrapped more rope around and reined me in
when you finally got me in your arms
when i finally let my guard down
you pulled the rug from under my feet
letting the ropes fall
showing me the door
with nothing done wrong
being told theres nothing i can do
time has past
yet i find a rope or two still around my arm
not connected to anything, just loops on my being
perhaps serving as reminders
for everything i learnt
this is just unfair
