Einstein once said ... "I know not what weapons will be used to fight World War III, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones."

Channeling some late 60s / early 70s black and white sci-fi comic art vibe for a post-apocalypse idea of basically Stone Age savages with M16s exploring the long fallen ruins of Humanity or ... like Charlton Heston as Colonel Taylor in "Planet of the Apes", maybe it's an American astronaut returned to a long dead world and making do with what he can find to restart civilization. Also some "The Warlord" of DC Comics fame inspiration in that regard. I grew up reading all sorts of PA fiction in comics, paperback and slick back magazines. Some of my favorite reads were Heavy Metal, anything from Warren Publishing, and a host of macho survival, post WW3 series like "The Survivalist" by Jerry Ahern and "Traveler" by D.B. Drum. Kids today don't understand what it was like to go to bed every night knowing that you could be vaporized in your sleep. When I was in college and the Berlin Wall came down and the Cold War ended, it was a surreal moment in time to have that dark hood of armageddon lifted from your shoulders.
