History:

The main flagship of the Federation of Arc's Celestial Navy during the Arcian Civil War. The Marshal-class Space Battleship is often seen as the instigator of the Civil War as up until the election of Arc's new Prime Minister in the late 4990s, Arc was in a period of peace with the last large capital ship having been built over 100 years ago with Arc focusing mostly on smaller patrol-style crafts. This shift from a central human world focused on trade, and maritime patrols into a military power house didn't sit well with many Arcians. One group took things too far when they killed the entire design team of the Marshal-class before the ship began construction in hopes that it would either convince the Prime Minister to stop his military build up or delay the Marshal-class enough to where it would be out right cancelled. Instead it achieved nothing more than dividing Arcian into those who remained loyal to Federation of Arc, and those who wished to see the Prime Minister removed from power.

Following a failed assassination attempt, the Prime Minister declared the entire "Opposer Party" as traitors, and demanded territories around Arc to surrender these "traitors". Instead, a vast majority or them, and a few more, took up arms starting the Arcian Civil War. In the early days of the war, when many thought the war would be over in a matter of months, the newly formed Coalition of Arc sought to steal the AWS: Marshal as a symbolic victory, as well as means to secure high-end military technology. Their plan failed, but it was not in vain as a few of the completed Marshal-class Space Battleships either defected, or where surrendered when their drydock came under control of the Coalition. Right at the start of the war, both sides had equal numbers of the Marshal-class Space Battleships, yet neither sided pitted them to the fight till over a year later. This was due to neither side wishing to lose such a vital, and powerful warship, but after a year of doing little more than building fortifications, defensive positions, and simply hoping the either side would just give up, these mighty warships were forced to the frontlines in order to break the stalemate. From this point on the flames of war burned ever hotter.

In just the first five years, the Coalition had lost all of their Marshal-class Space Battleships (though they were being replaced with domestically designed warships), and the Federation was designing larger, even more powerful battleships in hopes that they would end the war through sheer firepower. However, their plan failed and the war drug on for 12 long, brutal years that saw over 80 million Arcians die in what many saw as a pointless war. After the war's end, the remaining Marshal-class Space Battleships were either decommissioned, placed into moth ball fleets, or sent out to hunt down pirates, bandits, and smugglers which had became a major problem across Human Space as without Arcian Maritime Patrols, they were left unchecked as no other Human planet in the area had that resources to combat them. These new Battleship-led maritime patrols also served the purpose of hunting down the vast number of people who defected from Arc following the war's end as many simply couldn't bare to still live on the planet after so many years of hard fighting.
