Designed, developed, built, and tested in a nebula that fell within the Galactic Remnant's borders, the Imperii Center-Class Super Star Destroyer was the largest ship in the Galactic Remnant's navy. Development for the ship started around 30 ABY (After the Battle of Yavin) when Galactic Remnant spies (who had infiltrated the First Order) found rumors of a new kind of "system killer". The spies gathered what they could and sent them to their handlers before being captured, and executed. With this new information, the Imperii Center-Class Super Star Destroyer was designed to act as a mobile capital in the possibility of the Galactic Remnant's capital be destroyed by this super weapon.
Several Directors in the Galactic Remnant Council felt that the need for such a ship was unwarranted, and that their was only rumors of the weapon and no hard evidence. However a majority of the Directors was won over when they were reminded that the Death Star started off as only a rumor. As the Imperii Center-Class Super Star Destroyer was a clear violation of everything the New Republic forced upon the faction, the ship was built with the most secrecy and anyone who tried to leak information of this ship to the New Republic or into the public's view was swiftly arrested.
The Imperii Center-Class Super Star Destroyer was finished around 34 ABY just in time for the First Order to launcher thier assault on the Galaxy and use the super weapon, that many had hoped was just a rumor, to destroy the New Republic capital. At the time of Hosnian Prime's destruction, all vital Galactic Remnant leaders where rushed to the sole Imperii Center-Class Super Star Destroyer, the "GRSSD-Imperii Center".
