Espania
When England was stopped from rising due to the rise of the Celtic Realm the Kingdom of Spain profited from it like no other nation for that England was to be its most hated rival in the run for the New World. Though England still became an important trading and colonial nation it was never able to outlast Spain which in return could make usage of its full potential to become a major empire during the Age of Discovery. Eventually it was able to integrate Portugal and its few colonies into its own realm founding the Kingdom of Espania in 1784.
Present-day Espania has gone through the same struggles with its colonies that England would have instead, yet remains a major trading empire. It rarely gets involved into Central-European affairs and thus stays neutral towards the Allies as well as Axis powers focusing on maintaining trading-relationships with all of them.
Lately the nation has been struck by a fierce civil-war of which the outcome is still to be awaited.
The three participating factions are the Republicans which want to make Spain a complete democracy like the Republic of France instead of a constitutional monarchy. Then there are the Communists which intend to establish a Spanish Union as a bulwark against the Nationalist powers in Europea. And lastly there are the Nationalists which want to preserve the monarchy and tie Espania more closely to the Axis powers.
The nations capital is Madrid the official language is Spanish.
