Description Bow
by ERAyers

Once on board, Captain and crew were escorted through the magnificent spaceship by guards armed with shock batons and ushered onto a deck that looked very much like a royal hall. Portraits of previous rulers lined the walls, excessively picturesque windows looked out to the stars beyond, and a red carpet ran from the large metallic doors to a pedestal, that stood at about waist height, which they were stopped in front of. A huge chair that looked like it was covered in gold stood on it and doors etched with a coat-of-arms were behind that. The doors opened releasing a cloud of opaque yellow smoke. All dropped to their knees with eyes to the floor, all except the Captain and crew who remained standing. Through the smoke came the purple-robed figure of His Majesty King Ok-Rod Cawha ruler of Planet Cawha and his elite guard.
“Who dares not kneel in my presence?” He inquired in a booming voice that echoed off the walls.
One of the guards that had escorted them spoke, “This is Captain Fang of The Legend and her crew who assisted your great ship in defeating the pirates who dared upset His Majesty.”
King Ok-Rod stared down his long nose at Fang briefly to size this defiant human female up, "You have done me a great service, Captain Fang, but it gives you absolutely no excuse not to kneel before me when I grace you with my presence. Now kneel."
Fang couldn't believe her ears. She had just gone out of her way, risking ship and crew, to save his royal butt and now was being commanded to kneel. Well if he wants to be difficult, two can play at that game. The thought made a quick smirk tug at her lips, “Ya know, I think I banged up my leg pretty bad during the fight. I don’t really want to aggravate it. Is it okay with you if I stand?” She rubbed her leg and feigned a wince of pain.
“You will address me as His Majesty King Ok-Rod ruler of Cawha,” The King bellowed, “and you and your crew will bow before me or suffer the consequences. Guards!” The King’s guards surrounded them with shock batons engaged.
“Alright, His Majesty King Ok-Rod ruler of Cawha,” Fang said in a nonchalant tone with her hands raised in mock surrender, “We will bow.” With exaggerated flourish, she bent over from the waist, noted that she could see the guards reflections in the floor, and rose again. Her crew followed suit.
The King considered forcing the issue and making her kneel, but didn’t want to look bad for ordering his men to attack a female. Why do humans allow their females to occupy a man’s place? He wondered to himself in annoyance and decided to let it go. Plus he didn’t want to provoke a Captain with the weaponry and skill to drive off four fully armed pirate battle-cruisers.
“I command you all to rise,” He huffed even though they had already done so.
“His Maj…” Fang began, but King Ok-Rod interrupted “You may not speak until I give you my permission.” Fang raised her hand. “Yes, Captain Fang?” Asked Ok-Rod.
“Permission to speak to His Majesty King Ok-Rod ruler of Cawha?”
“Granted.”
“I would like to ask His Majesty King Ok-Rod ruler of Cawha if he wishes for an escort to the nearest starbase at Ceti II?” Fang figured she'd ask because that's where she was headed anyway.
“I can assure you that this ship is in perfect working order and can make it to its intended destination,” Gloated King Ok-Rod.
“Well, seeing as everything is in working order we’ll be going.” Fang clapped her hands and started to turn.
“Stop!” Shouted King Ok-Rod, “You may not go until I give you my permission to go.” At that moment an engineering officer came in, addressed him, then handed over a tablet. Clearing his throat Ok-Rod continued as fast as he could, “And you may not go until you agree to tow this ship to the nearest starbase located at Ceti II.”
Fang wasn't the only one who was glad to get back on the Legend. The pilot cracked jokes about the King once he was safely in his seat away from the guards, “What kind of a name is Cawha, anyway? Sounds like the intestinal parasite I got while on Saturn IV.”
Captain Fang gently cuffed him in the back of the head with her tablet, “We must not poke fun at the names of those from other planets. Now engage the magnetic beam and set course for Ceti II.” The bridge was so quiet with tension that she heard the beam powering up as she sat in her chair. A mischievous smile slowly played across her face, “Actually his name does sound like the parasite.”
