Very nice movement indeed. You're project list is a good idea. I'm making portfolio too. Maybe I should think like you. Great job here.

I'm glad to see that your monitor discoveries haven't made your paintings any less vibrant. :3 The lighting is wonderful and I really admire your ability to make it both fantastic (meaning its elements of fantasy) and realistic in style.

I love how the clouds are sort of flowing off of the woman and because of that I can see her being the more powerful of the two even though she's actually smaller in the picture plane.
Also I like how the woman stands out more colour-wise while the man seems to mirror the clouds' colour in the top of the plane.

Well done. I can definitely see an improvement, and I like the composition.
One thing that bugs me, though, is that the light from her hands doesn't seem to be reflected at all in the folds of his robe/cape/thing-he-wears. Even just a little bit of it would really help out, especially since you put that blue in other parts of his outfit, and in his face.
Otherwise, well done. Did I also say I wish I could paint like that? No? Well I do. There. I said it.

For dense fabric or matte materials, reflected lighting should be really close to the base color. On shiny stuff the lighting should veer closer to whatever the color you're reflecting and with darker shadows... like on a plastic cup the lighting will be just a bit lighter than the base plastic color but on a golden goblet you'll get strong whites and blacks?

So for this fabric, I had a sort of dense wool and then a shiny velor. For the velor I picked out little dots of reflected light for the (bristles?) and the dense wool I just reflected with a lighter red. I agree with him, it doesn't look quite right to me, but I don't know what would have worked

Really nice work, madam! I love the effect on her hand and the general posing is really cool. I look forward to seeing the rest of these! If this is the standard of quality, then I predict they will make an impressive set of portfolio pieces.

Awesome! Though you could also cross off the interaction one off your list XD The magic on her hand reminds me very much of the way *questionstar hilights things (which is the ultimate compliment in case you are unaware). Love the costume design and atmosphere too.
Oop, one thing that could be better resolved, the dark fold in her dress on the bottom sort of gets lost since the saturation is the same on that as on the guy's cloak. Maybe could be darker to make it get pushed back more?
