Description
First part of a series of images featuring mine and =Iris-Zeible 's characters.'4000 Seasons' is the project name that I'm working by as I develop Naoki's story. SDL only happens to be the first chapter in a story on a much more epic scale.
=Iris-Zeible 's characters, Yan Qian and Dembe, happen to be companions in the story, though how deeply tied into the plot they will be is still being discussed. If you'd like to get involved, just ask! I'm always looking for additional characters -_^"
The main inspiration behind this image is the opening sequence to Samurai Champloo. The whole contemporary spin that the series had on the fuedal world of Japan was very interesting and fun to watch.

I don't know what technique are you using for the shading but it looks really amazing!
Nice pose, color and your bg is also good.

Looks good, nice colors and medium. He does look a little out of place on the background, the textures don't match his design 100% so it looks as though he's being rejected from it, but it's not too harsh on the character. It's like he matches the background at 80% but to my eyes something isn't right at 20%.
Sorry for the run-on there.
I'd love to have one of my character included in this somehow, preferably Zen but any would do.
