I'm slowly coming back to DA, just really trying to practice better at drawing and coloring. Decided to take a little bit of practice with my girl Samus here, after a small workout session. I typically don't draw characters looking directly in front, so I thought I'd do something a little different with this one. However, this is just version 1 of this drawing. Version 2 is going to be a much different pose, and maybe if I can a different angle as well. Same style of hair, same outfit, maybe another piece of equipment like her paralyzer, but that's about it. This is hopefully going to give me a bit of training in regards to posing and angles. Once I learn that, I feel as though I'll be in a decent spot. The life of an artist ain't easy, but it'll pay off once I truly feel satisfied with my work.But anyway enough of that, here's Ms. Samus Aran! Wanted to make her look more muscular because in all honesty, I don't know how heavy her suit is, but she has to be quite strong to do so. Plus she's really athletic, so I honestly see her more this way, than her being really slender. But I might go both ways with this as I draw her, depends how I feel. Speaking of body figure, I think my anatomy may have been a bit off on quite a few areas. Need lots and lots of practice on that, but anyway hope you all like it. And version 2, will be coming soon!

Finally someone who draw Samus like she's supposed to be, she was like that in Metroid II, super and fusion but in latter games her muscles seems to have melted in favour of her breasts.

She should've been like that, but people love seeing a more slender, sexier body, than an athletic one. It's kind of sad, but at least we respect our fair lady by admiring her awesome and built physique. And thanks very muchly!

True, true. She is a muscular lady according to the official bios by Nintendo. She's 6'3 and weighs 198 pounds. She has to be a strongly built and fit individual to do her job of being a bounty hunter, and the most feared and successful one in the galaxy at that. Especially with the things she has to deal with.

Welcome. And oh yes. In fact, if you beat super Metroid with 100% items and she takes off her suit, you can see that she has a muscular build and abs as well. even though the power suit is a part of her mind/soul or something, it's still heavy and her job requires she be in fit shape like so to do it. Just one other reason I don't agree with what Other M did.

well, you can see in super metroid for example, if you clear it with 100% items, Samus has abs. she isn't overly muscular like an amazon, but she is very athletically built for sure.

This is completely true with her muscles! That suit must weigh so much, and there ain't no way some skinny, flimsy, uber-chested girl (like most people draw her) is gonna be able to MOVE in that thing. Great job, love the colors

Glad someone else agrees with on this haha! I'm not gonna lie sometimes I like seeking the slender uber-chest Samus (to an extent), due to my natural male instincts, but I don't like seeing her sexual poses and such. It just turns Samus into a sex symbol and makes her have a weak demeanor. For me, I'm all about respecting the female body. Fanservice is nice, but there's a limit to how far it goes in my opinion. Sensual poses over sexual poses.
