I did it and had a blast, but I don't think I'm going to publish the result because, honestly, it turned out painful to look at. Had it been slightly weird, but still somehow pretty, I would have submitted it, but I didn't want my fellow deviants to sue me for burning their eyes out.

I tried doing this one but I could not at first. You may want to emphasize the difference between the location of color 1 and color 2. Maybe it was just me but right away when I went to color, I thought the Dark Grey was the hair, inner ears, and nose - then I went to step two and was like, wait.. oh crap.
It may have been just me though, no worries ^.^ Cute idea!

Just use the terms like "Light Grey, Medium Grey, and Dark Grey".
Or if you really want to simplify it, on step one just put
(Tail, Toes, etc.)
