Description
Bouldasaur, the Gemstone Pokemon. Rock/Fairy-type.
Bouldasaur evolves from Geosaur using a Shiny Stone. Geosaur's hind legs become stronger upon evolution and allow it to stand up.
This Pokemon is able to grow crystals from it's back in a variety of colours and formations. They like quiet, dark caves, sometimes near volcanic areas. The crystals on their back often break off when they move, allowing both Geosaur and Sableye to have a free meal. The darkness of caves often means Bouldasaur's eyes are of little use, so it keeps them closed.
This. Has. Taken. So. LONG. I've gone through so many design iterations. It's still not 100% where I wanted it but I needed to finish it. I might redraw this in the future.
The bipedal design is based on Ivysaur's sprites from the international Red/Blue versions - I like this but I felt Geosaur was better as a quadruped because of how the crystal spire was coming out of the back. With Bouldasaur, there's a crystal down the back acting to help balance it on two feet.
