Description The phase of insanity.

My comic promo poster thingy. ^_^
CC is about a forgotten place. Sort of like like an oasis in this really harsh desert that not many people can find. And the people who do find it are usually criminals, or people running from something.

I wrote this whole intro, but it's on my laptop, so i'll have to post it some other time. ^.^

tools: Opencanvas, text done in photoshop!
Characters: My Theo. refsheet <3 (the skeleton is unknown )

The Guardian stood upon a towering rock, overlooking a firey wasteland. It was the only landmark for miles and formed an adequate watchtower. From a distance, one could not be blamed for thinking the figure, perched high and silhouetted by the sun, belonged to that of a wolf. But this was not so, for he was larger than any wolf. His tail, long and fluid, twisted and curled out behind him like a cat. His muscled, yet slender pillars held strong beneath his handsome frame. His ears were sleek and pointed atop his cranium, almost rabbitesque in length. And his paws where larger than any creature of this world, wide and sturdy, full of confidence. His thick coat indicated that he was not a being of the hot sands and blazing sun, but of ice-capped mountains. Indeed, he wished he could return to valleys of snow and cold winds. Anywhere would best this hell.

Although the Guardian had been out here for hours - perhaps even days, who could know in a place where the sun never set and the moon cowered eternally beneath the flickering horizon - he stood with an unrivalled patience. Waiting.

Attentively, his gaze scanned the horizon, violet eyes missing nothing. Inspecting every flicker of the heatwave for signs of life...There! Sharp vision focused on a darkness that lingered some distance away. A silhouette? Could it be...? Squinting through the glare of sunlight, he lifted his soft muzzle and inhaled deeply. The warm wind brought the unmistakable scent of sweat and sand-burnt flesh. His velvety black nose crinkled. A small window had opened for this soul, and this is what the guardian had been waiting for.

He unmounted the boulders in one swift motion, landing incredibly softly for one of his size on the golden grains. His wide paws -- accustomed to the deepest snow -- allowed him to gallop lithely across the sand. The ground singed him, though he showed no sign of his pain and was soon beside the one he sought, standing over them. None other than a human male. Though the Guardian knew of the troubles that this particular species brought with it, he was pure of heart, and had already taken it upon himself to protect this unlikely individual. His calm demeanor never wavered as he stared down at the incapacitated figure. Nothing less than kind tones emitted from the mascus impressive jaws.

"Little human, how precious and fragile you are. I have come to offer you salvation. Too many lives have ended in this godforsaken place. Yours shall not be counted among the bones.”

There was no sign that his words had been received. And in the short time it had taken for the beast to journey over, the human, a young man, had become half buried in the sands. Much longer and there would surely be another corpse, swallowed up without a trace. Powerful jaws closed around the scruff of clothing the man was draped in, and he was pulled mercifully from the blistering desert floor.

The Guardians tail lashed the ground. As he did so the winds whipped into a frenzy around their forms, sands obscuring their surroundings, wrapping around their flesh and searing into their skin. No sooner as the disturbance come, it left. The last trace of sand died away, as did the wasteland. The harsh ground had been transformed into lush, due sparkled grass. The horizon, now a picture of majestic mountains and cloudy skies. The sound of a freshly flowing river could be heard somewhere nearby, and a cool breeze ruffled tresses and fur alike.

However, this was not the only transformation. No longer did a furred and fanged beast stand there holding the white coated male, but a platinum tressed, tall figure that resembled a human itself. Only the surreal glowing eyes remained of his true form. He met his violet gaze with suprised blue one. He felt this visage was more appropriate, so as not to shock his new guest... it didn't work. The human pulled free of his grasp, and ran a few feet before falling to his knees and coughing violently. Apparently he was more concerned with getting away from his rescuer than clearing his lungs of sand.

"Do not be afraid human. I only wish yo help you."

The Guardian waited patiently for the sound of sand being expelled, then smiled pleasantly when his guest finally addressed him.

"Am I dead?"

"No. You guard the border between this place and the desert wasteland. It is said that only the strongest survive the harsh desert and are permitted to enter this bountiful land. Welcome to the Credendum Crescent."
