Oh, look, another OC I didn't need but made anyways! AND I MADE HIM JUST TO SHIP WITH A FRIEND'S OC, HOW MESSED UP MAN---lol, ANYWAYS, this is "Lanche", shortened from avalanche. Its a nickname he picked up when he was young, due to his love of winter sports and particularly, snowboarding. He was born in Telluride, Colorado, the Switzerland of AmericaΒ and took to the snow at an early age and loved sledding. In middle school he won an award for skiing (And also got a bunch of signatures on his arm cast!). In High School he wanted to be an Olympic Snowboarding Champion, but due to a medical condition, he had to put that dream on the shelf. He never stopped enjoying what he loved, but he felt at a loss. His biggest dream was out of his reach. It took a few years to fully adjust, but he's back and ready to take on life's new challenges!
He's a 21 year old college freshman-- he just started because he came back from a sort of reclusive phase, and he came back a brand new man!-- he's an undeclared major, but he's taking time to dip his toes into all sorts of subjects to see what sticks.Β
He's got a bubbly and warm personality, and makes new friends easily and he's definitely the life of any gathering of friends. He enjoys a challenge and a thrill, and is always one to try and set the bar higher.
He prefers to go by "Lanche" by mostly everybody, but his mom can get away with calling him "Hershey"

Well, it was actually because he's transgender. And in the beginning he wouldn't have been able to compete, he could now if he wanted!

??? *insert confused AF head tilt* That shouldn't stop him at all then o3o Transgenders are allowed to compete in the Olympics regardless of gender of preference or surgical transition but theyΒ willΒ have to have a hormone level below 10 for 12 months after the sex change (Sorry if I'm getting too deep into this XD I'm just trying to b supportive of this precious bean X'3)

I know! That's why I said he could do it now if he wanted but the time it took for him to come out and get a doctor who would be able to give him the treatment was a couple years, and then the legal name change, and the hormones to take effect and he ended up losing steam. Which is what that "reclusive phase" was!
He opted to go to college to try and get more life experience and learn more than just snowboarding. But yeah, that's why that's he hasn't gone back to training~

He will, most definitely ~ snowboarding is still his favorite thing, but I think at this point he's happy its just a hobby? After waiting so long and to jump through so many hoops, I'm sure he's glad he doesn't have to compete. He just gets to enjoy it as fun
