So okay, I've got some time finally to check some of your stuff out. This is a great shot. I love the framing, the textures, the focus, very indiana jonesish. It just reminds me of somewhere in the middle east or something. Other things that I enjoy is that the person is pushing an ox cart or something along those lines, not a car driving down this alley way.
Now to the other stuff "I think" would better it IMHO. I feel like the mid tones are too bland. If you were to go into curves and hit the drop down menu in the top right of the adjustment screen, you can add contrasts either linearly, medium, or heavily. I suggest trying one of those and see what you think. Another way is to go into the adjustment tab under layers, and hit the gradient map selection. This will also increase the contrast a bit. You can sharpen it a bit as well. That would help the textures as well as increase the clarity in the small things such as the poles running along the top of the frame (which I love) and your subject.
It really is a cool shot overall and hope that you don't think that I am nit picking. Can't wait to see the update if you decided to do it.

Thank you very much for your critique. You're right about the middle east, this is syria. Actually he is driving rather than pushing, but I think he build that thing he's driving himself, or at least it looked a lot like he did. Sounded like an old lawnmower, too.
I completely agree with what you said about the blandness. I did another version with more contrast, a little sharpness and also brightened it up a notch, and now comparing these two really this one looks like... yeah well, bland is the right word I guess. As for your concerns, I could use a lot more nit picking especially if it is so helpful as this has been.

Oh yeah, much better. The contrast looks a ton better and you can really tell you added some. Great job! What program are you using? I didn't check.
