I GOT A NEW SCANNER!!! This is the first picture ever scanned on my new TouchSmart Scanner!!! Oh my gawd, I am so excited about this! It means that my art won't look half as crappy as it usually does because of the blur from the camera!!!!
Yes!!! Everyone dance with me!
And yes of course, the picture itself: I wanted to do some random pencil sketches and this scene came to mind. Down here in Florida most of us babies are complete beach bums, I know I was (and
still am).
You new your parents loved you if they took you to the beach all the time.
So this is a picture of little me in my little beach hat making a little blob of a sand castle. So much fun!

I love what you did with the water to show the direction of the current, how it's kind of jagged but turns softer near the shore. And the freckles are there but elusive, which just adds to the effect because they aren't blatant but you know they're there. ^^ Yeah that's a gibberish sentence.
Also impressed with the shading of the hut and the shadow of you two....damn you can make things look ROUND. Jealous. Very nice job on both the hat and the shorts (yes interesting pairing of items there) but the attention to detail on both is stunning.
And I love how you do hair and feet and hands.

I guess that counts, but from the time I was born I've always been at least twenty minutes away from the ocean, soo...
My freckles are a lot more noticeable now that I'm older and I'm in the sun more often, it's that Irish in me.

I loved that hat, it was really worn denim with the coolest flower sewn on the side and I loved when my mom would plop it on my head. She'd play with me while she did it too, like put it on my face and ask if that was where it was supposed to go. Cheesy stuff like that.

Round as in not 2 dimensional, which is what happens anytime I try to draw a sphere...it looks like a damned circle. >.> Whereas yours looks like a round hut! ^^
Lol Irish blood, I get brown sunfreckles and tan like hell...which I would bet you can't accomplish
That sounds like the coolest hat, I had a purple felt one about that shape and it had a pink and purple felt flower glued onto it...best thing in the world!

My ears almost always get burned, but I think there are a couple freckles. No, the freckles on my face have always been there, they just get darker in the sun and I do tan pretty well seeing as how I'm Italian too.
It was the coolest hat, and for the life of me I wish it could still fit on my head.
