Even the bad boys get worn out sometimes...
Yes, I know the anatomy on this is wanked out in places, but since the sketch is a product of my sitting around the Saturn dealership and waiting for my car to be fixed, it didn't turn out too badly. The chair is all crazy, too -- yes, those are very crooked arm rests -- but hey, I like it.
I also wish I'd thought out the angle a bit better, since I ended up putting it in Painter, but hey, again, this is dealership art.
In any case, I just wanted to have another go at light-versus-shadow practice, and I think I'm happy with this. I'm getting closer to getting it right, so any suggestions and helpful critiques on painting shadows would be most welcome.

Β heres a tip for shading:
When you shade, concentrate on the light source, if you look at a picture of a car, paw attention to the light and shade. That should help c:

I love this drawing, Sunny just looks so peaceful. With all the crud and nonsense he has to go through, it's nice that he gets some time of peace, even if it's little.

What tires Sunstreaker out? Having a relentless twin brother like Sideswipe, I'm sure! Ha ha, this is really sweet; I just love your free-and-easy style for depicting Transformers. Your technique is very distinctive, and a joy to behold. I particularly like the constuction of Sunstreaker's cranial componentry, which is rather refined. Actually, there's an air of Andrew Wildman's style about this picture, particularly with the proportions of the body. Hope you take that as a compliment. Sure, there are issues with angles and proportions, but as you have stipulated, this image comes from a spur-of-the-moment sketch, so some leniency towards inaccuracy should be taken. I still think that this is a tender depiction of an Autobot bad-boy, and one you should feel confidently pleased with. Well done.

Yes...the chair...other things about the anatomy are a little off. But like I said, this is what you get when horses scribble at the dealership while waiting for car to get fixed.
What tires Sunstreaker out? Not much, but every once in a while, I guess he just gets a little over-used, and when no one's looking, he squirrels himself away for a nice nap.

I love how you did the light and shaodws though. That looks very nice. I find light n shadows to be something fun to play with as well. I'm currently working on a project with Sunstorm being showered with rays. *heh*
