The emotion is pic has a lot of impact. Mirage looks helpless and alone before the power of the blast, but he still tries to defend himself. Wonderful job.

Love the use of simple effects.
Judging by his pleased expression he’s overjoyed by all the sand getting underneath his armourplating
Gotta love earth (and all its dirt)

Thanks. Oh yes, terribly pleased I'm sure. Honestly, Mirage reminds me of a house cat: intelligent, agile, fastidious, wise to all that goes on in the Ark, and yet not particularly willing to exert the energy it takes to survive said goings-on. Which, in short, means he gets a bit put out when he has to pick clods of dirt out of his crevices.

Poor Mirage; he was never meant to mingle with philistines.

Let him hang around. Unlike certain Lambos, he's a quiet and occasionally invisible houseguest, doesn't eat much, wipes his feet and hoses off his tires before entering one's home, and he's usually good about doing some work to offset fuel prices--i.e., he'll pose for pictures without requiring death threats or bribes or blackmail.

Besides, the world needs more Mirage art.

The-Starhorse In reply to mfelizandy [2009-11-29 16:07:13 +0000 UTC]

Too true. He really was quite polite when he showed up, though he did turn a deaf audio to being told that I was in the middle of a holiday. Something about "you won't even notice I'm here." Famous last words, which basically meant that when he was helping himself to several gallons of tea and several plates of lemon bars, he was at least gracious about it.

Of course, then the demands for art started, and "gracious" turned into something more akin to "wheedling gnat". And he is still here. Something about my good taste in tea. Apparently we share a common affinity for Earl Grey.

Despite all of this, however, you are correct; the world does need more Mirage art.

He does have rather high class tastes--which is nice, because he doesn't think splatter-painting one's living room with a riot of dayglo colors is a thoughtful little surprise for his host, and I have yet to find his tread patterns in the front lawn after a rain. Send him back my way if he wears on your nerves too much, I can always find something to keep a stray bot or six busy.

If he's gonna stay, he's at least got to tell you the stories behind all these pictures. It'd be rude otherwise

I'm surprised the twins haven't forcibly evicted him yet.

The-Starhorse In reply to L-Shades [2009-11-29 16:02:59 +0000 UTC]

Mirage: Well, in this particular one, Prowl dispatched me to observe what "in Primus' slotting, bloody name" (exact words, mind you) Wheeljack was doing near the stack of munitions we'd just had delivered. I was halfway to ground zero when I suddenly found half of the Oregon desert blasting into my face. A..."jack-cident", if you will. Ratchet was terribly pleased.

And don't think I can't deal with those imbecile philistine clowns. I know how to get rid of the twins when I need to. *evil smile*

'Jack: It wasn't my fault! I keep telling the humans they make those sidewinders far too touchy... by the way, have you seen my left arm?

I don't doubt you can, Mirage. But they're bound to get you some day, you know that, right?

Hehehe. My mom had a dog a few years back, Casey, who LOVED to eat chapstick, lip gloss, lipstick, blistex... whatever she could get. She'd even unzip parts of your purse or backpack to get at it. I always wondered if that was bad for her, but she never seemed any worse for the wear.
