Description
So this came around because the great was looking for help with humanizing the rest of the Planes racers. I decided to take up the challenge with Sun Wing, the Chinese racer. I already thought she was a pretty cool character and figured she's probably be easier than some of the others, but well... she's not as easy to design as she looks. But I have learned a great deal because of that. It was definitely tricky to put her on legs (and not just because the legs came out rather poorly); first off because my style might've made her look... well, not very Chinese. I made a point to make her a bit more petite in frame, but yeah, my way of drawing large, expressive eyes didn't do Sun Wing justice. Her hairstyle turned out pretty well, though; for a while I was having trouble figuring out what would look cute and work for her that would be different than humanizations I'd done or the humanizations Aileen has done, but in the end, I took a card from Mulan and gave Sun Wing a loose, short ponytail! Now, the racing suit was definitely a challenge. I usually do just whatever with the outfits on my human Planes, but knowing she'd have to fit in with the world Aileen had set up, I decided she'd need an actual racing suit. I had some difficulty figuring out what would work until I came up with the short "kimono" sleeves and long gloves. And with some reference from the Planes Wiki everything fell together nicely! I even somehow managed to recreate that dragon design! You'll notice that I had the "dust clouds" design from the dragon sort of reformed into more traditional calligraphy-ish swirls as it travels down her jumpsuit leg. The boots came out pretty nicely, too, except for the fact that I used reference from the diecast, which has yellow on only the outer sides while in the movie she actually has them on both sides. So despite these flubs, I'm super-happy with how this girl came out! It's definitely different with humanizing the extra racers in Planes as versus the Cars films, which had tons of info on every random racer in both films, but I really enjoyed taking the challenge and drawing this cool racer! And yes, I added her name in Chinese... thank you Google Translate!

So here are some general notes to recap for Aileen-Rose:
- Face and body can be modified to resemble her race and/or vehicle more closely.
- Dragon design is shown here on her left side, though it could be switched either way.
- I couldn't get a clear enough idea of her sponsors or racing number; this can be added if you have a better reference than I do.
- Boots should have yellow on both sides, not just on the outer sides
