Backstory:

Nappa, one of the older surviving Saiyans and Prince Vegeta's aide. A long time loyal retainer for the Vegeta line and a bloodthirsty combatant, he would serve under many rulers, including the latest members of the Vegeta line, and Frieza. However when Raditz was slain and the Dragon Balls of Earth were found, he and Vegeta would go to that world. Slaughtering part of its population and fighting against the Z-Fighters, killing most of them. It wouldn't be until the recently revived Goku arrived that their rampage would be stopped, the Saiyan of Earth crippled Nappa. Much to everyone's shock, when Nappa attempted to gain aide from the man he had served much of his life, Vegeta killed him for being a hinderance.

Nappa would spend some time dead and in Hell until one day, a young Gohan, a few years after Nappa's death, decided to resurrect him in light of Vegeta and Raditz' redemptions. Thought Nappa was initially confused by much of this, he would eventually mellow out like fellow redeemed Saiyans, and now works alongside the Z-Fighters to make up for his life of destruction and to help the survival of the Saiyans.
