Hey, guys... Please stop mentioning the fact that her eyes aren't purple. I based this Dany 100% off of Emilia Clarke, and at the time of painting, I didn't even know about the purple eyes. I've never been such a purist that something like the wrong eye colour would ever bother me, and this is clearly fanart of the TV show, which I watch religiously, and not of the book, which I have no farting clue what goes on in there asdfghjklpffffffff

Thanks for all the love that this pic is getting, especially recently on Reddit. I did it on a whim and I'm quite embarrassed about it now. Still, I love you guys like I want Dany and Jorah to kiss! Thanks so much!

I absolutely adore this duo, so how could I possibly resist doing my take on them? So yeah, Daenerys and Friendzone ... uh, I mean, Jorah.

Don't act like you don't call him that, too.

Anyways, I'm totally rooting for Friendzone. Daenerys should just hook up with him already. So what if he's old enough to be her grandpa? He kicks ass!

was not aimed to drive you mad i just mean - original is always better than the copy, and the TVshow is like an illustration to the book.. so its strabge to me that a person who likes the series doesn't want to dive deeper into the world of this show. Cuz the books are awesome, have much more interesting twists and characters and so on. Β

I don't disagree with you. It's just I'm a movie buff and far better understand the language of film than literature. It's incredibly difficult for me to read a story (even comics) because my attention constantly drifts towards entirely different stories. I also have difficulty with interpreting actions and environments as described in text. I truly can't say why this happens, though. I read factual books just fine. In fact, I devour them. So anything on history or art will end up on my bookshelf and be read multiple times.


I'm very happy to know you enjoy the Song of Ice and Fire novels so much as to defend them so fervently. My brother loves the books and is always telling me about the extra character and story bits the show misses out on, and also tells me where the show deviates, which is fascinating in itself.


Just as a final aside, I never proclaimed to be proud of not reading the books. I simply stated I have no knowledge (or "no farting clue", as I put it for comedic effect) of the contents of the novels. If that is the statement that offended you, please know I never suggested feeling any pride or pleasure in skipping the literature. It was just a statement of fact void of emotion.


Sorry for the wall of text, but the fact you replied in such detail indicated you wished to discuss this, and although I normally use avoidance tactics against possible trolls, you seem like a cool person with whom to have a dialogue. Stay cool and keep reading, my friend!

Oh, the trick in this one was the texturing and the environment gradients, I think. I added a lot of specks of mud and blood and it really brought the piece to life. So it's really just a Photoshop trick. Β 


If you ask me, these two look more like a Barbie and Ken doll than anything Pixar can create! They're so lame. BUT I WOULD SO BUY A KHALEESI BARBIE EGADS.
