Description I get asked for reference quite a bit, so here are some shots of the more detailed areas.

Before I saw this I never knew that the armor plates on the infinity's engines are floating

Yeah I'm not really sure why they float but on all the official models they do :S

Because the engines are reverse-engineered from Forerunner technology. And as we know, Forerunner tech often has lots of floaty bits. It's definitely not a mistake of the model; if you look carefully enough at the Infinity in-game at the right angle, you can see 'em.

It does, but it's nice to see an example of progressive technology in the game. Also I think those are the only floating bits on the whole ship, so at least it's sparse if you don't like it.
